Having Semaglutide as its main ingredient, Wegovy Flextouch 0.25mg is a pre-filled self-injectable pen prescribed to people diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in the initial course of treatment. This is the lowest dose of medication of Wegovy pre-filled pens and is used to promote weight loss, keep the blood sugar levels under control, and limit the risk of cardiovascular diseases. This medication acts as a natural hormone by mimicking its function and is classified as a GLP-1 agonist. It binds with the receptors in your brain and reduces your appetite by slowing down the movement of food in your body. It amplifies the secretion of insulin in a glucose-dependent manner by helping the beta cells release more insulin when sugar levels are high, and also reduces the glucose released by the intestine.

• Go through the label of this medication carefully, and do not use it if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
• Consuming this medication slows down the digestion process and keeps the stomach full for longer than usual, so have small and multiple meals throughout the day and avoid eating greasy food.
• Before you start using this medication, consult with your doctor and tell them about all the prescribed drugs you are already using, as combining them with Semaglutide might trigger adverse effects.
• Do not use it during the course of your pregnancy or if you are planning to conceive in the near future.
• Avoid its use if you have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or are identified with multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).
Your body may take time to adjust to this medication, and you may experience a few common side effects in the initial weeks of treatment. These mild side effects are mostly related to the delayed emptying of the stomach and include nausea, vomiting, bloating of the stomach, diarrhea, constipation, and abdominal pain. Connect with your doctor if these side effects persist.
Due to the consumption of this medication, your body is also prone to some serious side effects. You might develop gallstones in your gallbladder. You might get blurry vision, and your eyesight can also worsen during the course of treatment. If you are feeling severe and consistent pain in the lower abdomen, it is possible that you have swelling in your pancreas. Drink lots of fluids, as low levels of fluids in the body can lead to damage to the kidneys.
• Review the condition of the pen before using it, and make sure that the needle is not broken.
• Inspect the liquid container of the pen and check that it is clear and colourless.
• Administer the pen in areas like the lower abdomen, the upper parts of the arm, or the thighs. Keep rotating the spot; do not inject at the same spot every time.
• Hold the dose button for ten seconds after injecting the pen and wait till the yellow bar on the pen stops moving.
• Remove the pen slowly from the skin after use.
• If you miss a dose on the scheduled day of the week, you can use it within 4 days. If it goes longer than that, just skip it for that week and continue the administration of this pen from the following week.
