Mounjaro 2.5mg Kwikpen contains tirzepatide as its active ingredient and is a continuous-acting dual receptor agonist, which is a combination of GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide) and GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1). It mimics both the hormones and functions with their receptors to regulate sugar levels and reduce appetite. It binds to receptors in the brain and decreases appetite by slowing the movement of food through the body. It binds to beta cells in the pancreas and boosts the secretion of insulin in a glucose-dependent manner, thereby improving sensitivity to insulin. It limits the production of glucagon in the intestines when the blood sugar levels are high. This self-injectable pen is prescribed to adults suffering from type 2 diabetes and have a body mass index of 27 or higher, helping in controlling blood sugar levels and managing weight.
