Certain medications when used together with generic colchicine tablets can cause some serious drug interactions.
It is advised to tell your doctor about all the medicines you have been using now or have started or stopped using.
Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Call your doctor at once if you have:
muscle pain or weakness;
numbness or tingly feeling in your fingers or toes;
pale or gray appearance of your lips, tongue, or hands;
severe or ongoing vomiting or diarrhea;
fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms; or
easy bruising, unusual bleeding, feeling weak or tired.
Common side effects may include:
nausea, vomiting, stomach pain; or
Follow the instructions of your doctor and take this medicine as prescribed by him. Avoid taking in smaller or larger amounts or for a prolonged period of time.
Colchicine can be taken with or without food.
It is recommended to take this medication immediately after the first sign of attack. The longer you take in consuming this medication, the lesser effective it will become.
You may also need to take a second dose of this medicine one hour after the previous one if you still witness gout pain.
Do not stop taking this medicine until your doctor doesn’t tell you to do so.
Call your doctor immediately if you don’t see any improvement in your symptoms or if they get worse.
Store at room temperature away from moisture, heat, and light. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
